The neighbors behind Petersham's volunteer firefighters.

The Petersham Firefighters Association is the nonprofit that stands behind our volunteer fire department: recruiting new members, raising the funds that keep them ready, and bringing the town together on the common.

A town association that keeps its volunteers ready.

The Petersham Firefighters Association is a nonprofit dedicated to supporting the fire prevention and protection services provided by the Petersham Volunteer Fire Department. We promote fire prevention, back effective emergency service and community education, and give our members a way to offer their skills, knowledge, and support to neighbors in need.

We are a registered 501(c)(3) led by a volunteer board of directors. Every dollar and every volunteer hour goes back into a department run by the people who live here.

How you can help the department.

A volunteer department only works when the town shows up. Here is where a neighbor can start.

Recruit

Join as a firefighter or as a supporting member. No experience needed to start, just a willingness to train and show up for your neighbors.

Give

Gifts to the Association fund gear, training, and community fire-prevention work. As a 501(c)(3), contributions are tax-exempt.

Attend

Come out for Association events on and around the common. Following along on Facebook is the quickest way to catch the next one.

Petersham protects itself. The Association is the community machine on the common that keeps volunteers coming, keeps them equipped, and keeps the town close. Three ways the green stays lit.

Firefighting and supporting roles both count. New members are trained and welcomed by the people already on the trucks.
